Managing Allergies in Kids' Meals

I’ve been working on meal plans for a few kids with various food allergies, and it can get overwhelming to find balanced options. For example, I recently swapped out peanut butter for sunflower seed butter in their snacks, and it was a hit; i’d love to hear how others approach allergy management while keeping meals nutritious and enjoyable.

I’ve had success using mashed avocado as a spread or dip instead of dairy-based options — kids love it and it adds some healthy fats. Just be mindful of their willingness to try new textures; sometimes it takes a few tries. Have you tried any other alternatives that the kids enjoyed?

I totally get the challenge of keeping meals enjoyable with allergies. I’ve found that using coconut yogurt in smoothies has been a game changer — it’s creamy, dairy-free, and adds a nice sweetness. Just last week, I mixed it with frozen berries, and the kids couldn’t get enough.
