I’ve been caring for an adorable 3-month-old, and I know tummy time is essential for their development; we’re doing it for about 15 minutes a day, but I’m curious what other nannies are aiming for. How do you make tummy time engaging for infants?
Fifteen minutes is a good start! I usually make tummy time more engaging by placing a mirror in front of the baby; they love looking at themselves and it keeps them motivated. Have you tried that yet?
Engaging a baby during tummy time can be as simple as using some colorful toys or even a fun sound toy to keep their attention. I’ve had success with soft rattles; just make sure to sit in front of them so they can see you too — what kinds of toys do you use?
