I wanted to share some fun language immersion activities I’ve been using with the kids I nanny. Recently, we turned a typical grocery shopping trip into a bilingual scavenger hunt, where they had to find items in both English and Spanish. It’s a great way to keep them engaged while practicing language skills in a real-world setting. I’m curious if anyone else has tried similar activities, or has other creative ideas to share?
Love the scavenger hunt idea! I’ve done something similar by turning outings to parks into language tours, pointing out objects in Spanish as we walk. It really helps keep them engaged, but , sometimes they get more interested in playing than the language practice.
I love how you incorporated a scavenger hunt into a grocery trip! I tried something similar by using a local library’s storytime to explore new words in different languages. It was a hit, but , convincing them to sit still was a bit challenging.
